Originally built in 1966, The University of Queensland’s St Lucia Physics Annexe building needed an upgrade and additional space to accommodate their expanding faculty. This project included the addition of a whole new top floor and roof – and so  Level 5 was created!

Collaboration between the University, RAL Architects, and Fuse saw the realisation of light filled, airy head of school office and collaborative spaces with streamlined surfaces, natural materials palette including timber veneer and carefully planned acoustic treatments throughout.

Working with the Four Design family of furniture brought a cohesion to the spaces, enhancing the feeling of openness. Four Sure 66, 44, 90 complemented by the Four Design tables, Four Us sofas, and Skyline range of seating in a refreshing colour palette created inviting inspirational spaces. Fuse’s electrical height adjustable workstations with System 4 screens and metalcase storage completed the fitout.
